BCP LOCAL PLAN 

At their meeting on 30 September, the BCP Cabinet will be asked to approve the Local Plan Content and Evidence Consultation, which can be DOWNLOADED below. This outlines the next stages of the emerging local plan and indicates the direction of travel. Sites with the potential for 7,800 new homes in the Green Belt have been promoted. The public consultation is due to begin at the end of October, after which some of the promoted sites will be allocated as part of the Local Plan. We will need to have our voice heard.

NEW MAGWATCH SUBMISSIONS

Following the introduction of the new National Planning Policy Framework in August, the Inspector of the Incinerator Inquiry invited MVV, BCP and Magwatch to make submissions assessing the effect of the new Framework on the cases they submitted to the Inquiry in June. The deadline was 17 September. Magwatch’s submission can be found in DOWNLOADS below.  Magwatch has also submitted a new objection to the Canford Garden Village application. This is a revision of the original objection, taking into account the new NPPF, and can also be downloaded below.  

REVISED NATIONAL POLICY FRAMEWORK

The revised NPPF was published today (17th August). The new framework is likely to have implications for the Canford Garden Village application and might delay the Inquiry decision. It can be downloaded from DOWNLOADS.

CANFORD GARDEN VILLAGE 

The consultation period for this planning application for WH White's 1200 house development north of Magna Road closes on 29th July, although you will still be able to object beyond this date. CANFORD INCINERATOR APPEAL

The Inquiry concluded on 25 June. The outcome will be announced in late August or September. If you would like more information about the Inquiry, go to APPEAL.

BCP LOCAL PLAN

FUNDING FOR APPEAL

We raised £30,467 to pay for our legal representation at the Inquiry and are very grateful for all the generous donations. The Appeal fund is now closed.

MMV APPEAL 

MVV have appealed against the refusal of the Incinerator application. The Inquiry will start on 2nd June 2026.  To find out details and dates, and to download key documents, go to APPEAL.

BCP LOCAL PLAN PROMOTED SITES

The list of promoted sites for the BCP Local Plan was published today (27th October). As you can see from the map, the Bearwood and Merley ward is being bombarded by developers. To see BCP's interactive map, follow this link.

  Magwatch will shortly publish details of all these promoted sites, and over the coming weeks and months will keep you closely informed about the consultation. The listed sites are promotions rather than applications. We need to make sure that the unsuitable promotions don't become allocations.
